Landscape Parks

Following the principles that helped create the ecotrails, we came up with the idea of landscape parks.

Types

According to their location:

  • Roadside parks;
  • Riverside parks;
  • Mid-high mountain parks – according to their altitude.

According to the main natural component:

  • Forest parks;
  • Hydroparks (aquaparks);
  • Geoparks.

Panega Riverside Landscape Park

There exists a network of European geoparks, totaling a number of 25. Three of them are situated in our adjacent countries: two geoparks in Greece, and one in Romania. In Bulgaria, the first geopark was created in the Karlukovo karst area.
