Hotnitsa Ecotrail

Located: 17 km away from Veliko Tarnovo. In Use Since: 2006. Part Of: Middle Yantra Ecozone.

Building:

• 2004-2006 - Building of the ecotrail: project Creating an Ecotourist Hinterland in the Districts of Veliko Tarnovo, Strazhitsa, Zlataritsa and Antonovo, the PHARE Development of Bulgarian Ecotourism Program.

BARET Participation: Created the concept design; participated in building the ecotrail.

Sights: a gorge on the Bohot River, the Hotnitsa Waterfall, ponds, islands and waterfalls.

Nearby Sites: Negovanka Ecotrail, Zarapovo, Musina Karst Chasms.

Duration: approximately 1.5 hours.

Difficulty Level: easy.

Season: April - October.

Equipment: hiking shoes.

	The wooden structures are new. At the end, the trail is overgrown with shrubs and bushes, so you have to retrace your steps.
